Microsoft announced their Surface Tablet yesterday. Surface was originally a table top platform, but they scaled it down into a tablet running Windows 8. The most interesting feature in Microsoft's tablet is the cover that doubles as a keyboard. The cover looks very similar to the iPad's smart cover, but features a keyboard on the inside.
"We believe that any intersection between human and machine can be made better when all aspects of the experience — hardware and software — are considered and working together," said Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. "Today we want to add another bit of excitement" to the Windows 8 story.
Some see Microsoft's Surface Tablet as a challenge to the iPad while others see it as simply as a clone. Time will tell if Microsoft will gain traction with Surface. I'm sure some enterprise users will find a good place for it.
