Palm revenue lifted by record Treo sales

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - March 24, 2007

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Palm experienced an increase in revenue during the last quarter due to record Treo sales. That's the good news. The bad news is that profits are down due to dropping PDA sales.

Palm is a company that is transitioning out of the handheld PDA business and into the smart phone business.

"You're continuing to see a company in transition here," CEO Ed Colligan said in an interview with the Mercury News. "A few years back 100 percent of our business was handhelds and zero smart-phones."

Can Palm survive without being acquired? That's anybody's guess and the rumors are still flying. This past week there were rumors of Motorola or Nokia buying Palm but nothing happened. What will happen with Palm this coming week? Stay tuned...
