i-mate Announces PDA2 Pocket PC Phone

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - June 02, 2005

i-mate has announced the release of PDA2. The PDA2 runs on an Intel XScale 520MHz processor with 128MB RAM, 64MB ROM, and a 64K-colour 3.5" QVGA screen. It is a GSM/GPRS Tri-Band (900/1800/1900) phone so it works all over the world. It has 802.11b wireless networking and Bluetooth. It sports a 1.3 MP camera, and a SDIO/MMC slot.

"The i-mate™ PDA2 is one of the most powerful and expandable mobile
devices on the market. The efficiency gains to be had could mean the device
pays for itself in no time” said Jim Morrison, Founder and Chief Executive of imate™. "Over and above the advanced features of the device itself, the real
difference is in the i-mate™ value added services we offer and global warranty
play a key role in i-mate™’s strategy to deliver the ultimate mobile experience."

Curiously it has Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and not Windows Mobile 5.0.
