Sprint PCS has finally started to expand its Pocket PC Phone offerings with the release of the Hitachi G1000. Previously they offered only a Toshiba Pocket PC model.
The Hitachi G1000 uses a 400 MHz Intel XScale PXA255 processor. It has 32 MB of RAM and 32 MB of ROM. It runs Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition. There is no word yet of an upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003. It does have an SD card slot but this is not SDIO compatible.
The phone features built-in camera, and is the first Pocket PC with built-in QWERTY keyboard similar to that of a RIM Blackberry.
