News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - February 11, 2003

LXE Inc. has introduced a new ultra-rugged handheld computer running on the Windows CE operating system, the MX5. This unit features a vivid color TFT reflective screen for viewing both indoors and outdoors, full alpha-numeric keyboard for simple data entry and retrieval, and an ergonomically designed vertical form factor for easy handling and operation. The MX5 can also be equipped with an internal, standard or long-range, 1D or 2D barcode scanner, or a high- resolution imager to facilitate data collection in a number of different scenarios.

The MX5 is designed for extreme environments whether hot or cold, humid, rain, salt, etc., and is ideal for traditional industrial and logistics applications. It can withstand waterspray and is completely protected from dust. The rugged housing can handle multiple drops from over 6 feet.

The MX5 is also engineered to support LAN and WAN radios, enabling use in traditional warehouse applications or cutting-edge data collection in the field. Suited for indoor or outdoor operation, the MX5 is a mobile logistics computing solution designed to meet the demands of tomorrow's mobile enterprise.
