Motorola Chips to Support Windows CE

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - September 19, 2002

It looks like Motorola is joining a growing list of vendors making chips that support the Microsoft OS. Motorola's MX1 DragonBall processor for handheld devices now supports Microsoft's Windows CE operating system, the companies announced Wednesday.

Motorola is the third major vendor to make chips for the handheld device market that can run Windows CE or components of it.

Processors from Intel and Texas Instruments also support Windows CE, and Transmeta's Crusoe processor also recently was certified for the software.

Microsoft continues to make progress in their market share of the PDA markets. Don't be surprised if they pass Palm someday. They have a long way to go, but also have a history of overtaking their competition.
