Nokia accidentally reveals white international Lumia 900

Nokia announced the Lumia 800 in white yesterday, but nothing was said about a white Lumia 900. However, it appears the company accidentally revealed a photo of a white Lumia 900 on its Facebook page. Not only that, the white Lumia 900 looks to be an international phone.
Although the photo is was labeled Lumia 800, you can clearly see the microUSB port on top (the 800 has a flip cover), and there is an obvious front facing camera. The photo is missing the AT&T branding which suggests it's an international phone.

Microsoft retail stores taking Nokia Lumia 900 pre-orders

The Nokia Lumia 900 is now available for pre-orders, if you're willing to drop $25 to reserve it. The Verge is reporting they have confirmed that Microsoft retail stores are taking pre-orders of the Lumia 900.
There is no official word on the launch date, but it is rumored to be March 18. The rumor on price is that Microsoft and Nokia will offer their flagship Windows Phone 7 device for $99. That's a crazy price but if it's true, right on!

Windows Phone Marketplace now open in 5 additional countries

The Windows Phone Marketplace for apps and games is now open in five new countries. As of yesterday, the Windows Phone Marketplace works in Argentina, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru and the Philippines. Windows Phone users in those countries can now tap the marketplace tile to start downloading apps. Microsoft makes "Gmail Man" video public in response to Google's Privacy Policy change

This video isn't new, but it's new to the public. Microsoft made this video last year but it was used internally for its internal Global Exchange sales conference last July. In light of the recent change to Google's privacy policy, Microsoft has not only taken ads out in local newspapers criticizing Google, they have made the "Gmail Man" video public.

Details of Windows Phone 8 have been revealed in a video by senior vice president and Windows Phone manager Joe Belfiore. The video, seen by PocketNow, was intended for Nokia and its partners. In the video, Belfiore discusses several changes coming to Windows Phone 8, and there are several.

Unofficial Instagram client InstaCam hits Windows Marketplace

Instagram is a popular photo sharing app for iOS, but unfortunately they do not yet have a Windows Phone client. InstaCam is an unofficial Instagram client for Windows Phone. It allows you to take pictures on your phone, apply effects to make the picture beautiful, and then share them via Facebook, Twitter, or email.
It's a new app that has a good feature set, and more features are coming.

Microsoft paid Nokia $250 million for Windows Phone in Q4 2011

Microsoft's deal with Nokia was widely seen as a win win for both companies because they both needed each other. Nokia's once dominant and untouchable position at the top of the cell phone market was giving way to Apple and Google, and Microsoft was completely left out of the smartphone game for awhile. No details were given at the time of the deal, but now Nokia's financials shed some light on the deal between the two companies.

There's more Nokia Lumia 900 release date news out today. We're heard rumors of a March release, then we heard June, then May. According to BGR, they have received information about AT&T's 2012 roadmap and the Nokia Lumia 900 is scheduled to launch on March 18. The phone hasn't received technical acceptance yet, so the date could change, but look for a March release.

Speculation as to when the Nokia Lumia 900 will hit the UK is brewing. Carphone Warehouse has confirmed that the Nokia Lumia 900 is “coming soon," and all indications are it will launch in June. That seems like a long way off, but it will be here just before you know it. Actually, it will be here just before the new iPhone 5 is announced so we'll see how it stacks up.

Windows Phone is so far behind in the mobile game that this almost seems laughable, but it could really happen. Market researchers at IHS have published a report that says Windows Phone will overtake Apple's iOS by 2015.

Nokia Lumia 710 Reviewed

The Nokia Lumia 710 was released last week on T-Mobile and so far the reviews have been positive. It's not the most powerful phone (the Lumia 900 will top it) but it's not bad for the first Windows phone released in the US. The Lumia 710 is supposed to take Windows Phone to the masses so we'll see if it can accomplish that task.
The Lumia 710 has a 3.7" display and a 5MP camera. Those specs seem so 2010, but since it's not Nokia's flagship phone, we can't complain.

Microsoft acquired Skype, yet a Skype app for Windows Phone has not been developed yet. Speaking at CES, Skype product VP Rick Osterloh promised a dedicated Skype app is coming soon to Windows Phone. Check out the video above for the full chat.

You would think the release date for the Nokia Lumia 900 would have come out at CES, but it didn't. A Nokia Developer Newsletter however, has spilled the beans. According to the newsetter the Lumia 900 "will become available exclusively through AT&T in March".
