There is a rumor going around that Microsoft will launch an entry level tablet that will run full Windows instead of Windows RT. WinBeta apparently has sources that tell them the Surface 2 successor will be the first in the entry-level tablet series to run full Windows.
According to WinBeta, this tablet will feature a fanless design and run one of Intel’s Atom or Core M ultraportable processors.
So a quick roundup:
Microsoft is building a successor to the Surface 2 (RT)
It will be ATOM or Intel Core M based, running full-Windows (not Windows RT)
Will be marketed as an non-pro device
Fanless
Pre-loaded with Windows 8.1, upgradable to Windows 10
Announcement before/at BUILD
The rumor is that the new tablet will be released at Microsoft's Build conference at the end of April. This consumer device will be marketed to the masses instead of the "pros." Hit the source link to check out WinBeta's full story.
