Roku has had an app on Android and iOS for awhile now, but Windows Phones and tablets were left out. Roku announced recently that they now have apps for Windows 8/8.1 phones and Windows 8.1 devices in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Republic of Ireland. That means you can control your Roku box from your Windows Phone or tablet.
The app requires you are on the same network as your Roku, but once you are, you have full control of the Roku box from your Windows device. This is great news for Roku users, but not great for those developers of third party Roku remote apps. The official app is now available so all others are basically irrelevant.
