Microsoft received some great news from the FAA. The Surface tablet has been cleared to be used during all phases of flight. That means Microsoft can compete head to head with the iPad for use in commercial airlines. The benefits of pilots carrying tablets instead of a suitcase full of books has been proven. It saves on fuel costs by cutting the required weight down.
Even better news for Microsoft is the announcement that Delta Airlines has signed up to provide their pilots with Surface tablets. Delta is the first airline to jump on board, and more will surely follow.
Finally some great news for Microsoft on the Surface front. Surface was a great product, but disappointing in terms of adoption.
