Windows Phone has been sluggish at best, but things may be turning around. Windows Phone market share is up 156% year over year. IDC has released their quarterly report and Windows Phone is in third place behind Android and iOS, at 3.6% market share. 3.6% market share is still embarrassingly low, but it marks a definite increase over last year's 2%. The collapse of BlackBerry has benefited Microsoft's Windows Phone.
Another interesting tidbit in the IDC report is that the average selling price of smartphones fell 12.5 percent to $317.
