Steve Ballmer went on the attack today and Android was in his crosshairs. Speaking at the Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco, the Microsoft CEO suggested Android phones are so complicated that people need to be "computer scientists" to use them.
Ballmer was much kinder to Apple but he did say:
Microsoft has been late to the smartphone game and so it makes sense for Ballmer to try and get some press by going on the attack. Time will tell if he can bring Microsoft back into the game.
“You don’t need to be a computer scientist to use a Windows phone and you do to use and Android phone…It is hard for me to be excited about the Android phones.”
Ballmer was much kinder to Apple but he did say:
“Both [an iPhone and a Windows phone] are going to feel very good in your hand and both going to look very beautiful physically…. but when you grab a Windows phone and use it… your information is front and centre… and you don’t have to scroll through seas of icons and blah blah blah.
“A Windows phone gets things done.”
