Verizon won't offer Windows Phone 7 devices at launch

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - September 16, 2010

According to Bloomberg, Verizon won't be joining in the Windows Phone 7 launch. Verizon customers will apparently have to wait until next year before they can get their hands on a Windows Phone 7 device.

"Verizon Wireless won’t offer a device at the planned fall introduction or at any point this year, Brenda Raney, a Verizon spokeswoman, said today in an interview. The carrier plans to support the new operating system and will probably release a phone in 2011, she said."

Verizon is knee deep in Android and BlackBerry devices. The rumor is they will offer the iPhone next year. Could that be the reason they are waiting on Windows Phone 7? I doubt it, but it does seem interesting that the nation's largest carrier is staying out of the Windows game for awhile.
