LG says Windows Phone 7 will outperform rivals

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - August 16, 2010

LG apparently believes strongly in Windows Phone 7. The company says it will be the first manufacturer to launch a Windows Phone 7 phone. European models will be in stores in October and US models will hit a month later. Interestingly, the Windows Phones will not be available in Korea until sometime next year.

The European WP7 LG phones will sport a 3.8" display while the US models will include a slideout QWERTY keyboard.

LG will add the Windows Phone 7 devices to its "Optimus" line of devices along side some Android devices. This means the Optimus line will include WP7, Android, and tablet devices.

"The company told Korean reporters it expects WP7 to outperform the two rival smartphone operating systems, as well as giving users compatibility with existing Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel."
