News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - July 17, 2008

Samsung has announced the release of the Samsung Omnia in Italy on July 22. The Samsung Omnia is a Windows Mobile phone clearly designed to compete with the iPhone.

The Omnia runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro with Samsung's new TouchWiz user interface, which is designed to make the device easier to use with a fingertip.

The Omnia has a 3.2-inch WQVGA (240 by 400 pixel) touchscreen, and sports a 5-megapixel camera.

The Omnia will debut in Italy on July 22 in Italy, and will be available in most European countries in August.
