Sprint PPC 6800 pictures in the wild

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - April 20, 2007

Many users have been waiting for an upgrade to the Sprint PPC 6700 and now there is evidence that a PPC 6800 is on the way. We've known for awhile that Sprint is planning to release an upgrade but now we have pictures to prove it. A PPCGeeks user was able to play with the prototype and took some shots of the upcoming device.

Although the specs of the prototype are subject to change, this one will run Windows Mobile 5 AKU 3.3 (Pocket PC Phone Edition) on a Qualcomm MSM7500 400 MHz processor. It will have 173 MB of storage memory and 48 MB of program memory.

The new PPC 6800 has a spring loaded keyboard that opens in the opposite direction of the PPC 6700. It supports microSD and a collapsable stylus.
