The New York Times has an article about a man, Mr. Fodor, who is a 43 year old French computer programmer. In the early 1990s he worked on "push" e-mail services before it was a hot litigation issue. Now he's getting the big boys back but not through litigation. He's releasing a free push email service that will be supported by small text ads.
"Freedom Mail will liberate wireless e-mail from expensive and spurious litigation driven by very few patent owners for the sole purpose of dominating global wireless e-mail communications," Mr. Fodor said.
This is an interesting read for all mobile email users.
