Military medics are using HP iPAQ Pocket PCs for their work in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. According to an article in the Government Computer News, the iPAQs are running the Battlefield Medical Information System-Tactical (BMIS-T), which gives the medics access to patient records and potential treatments.
"Using the handheld device, medics can document a clinical session in seconds. Individual patient accounts—such as immunization, dental records and current medication information—are embedded in the system."
