According to recent reports the FAA has approved a service by Verizon Airfone that would allow wireless access on United's fleet of B757-200 jets. The service would not be available until 2006, and would only be available over US airspace. International flights will not use this service but will have to rely on a different system, like the satellite Internet service now offered by Boeing.
