Overview
Awele is a simple game to get into, but beating the computer opponent takes some practice. Awele is very similar to Mancala, and the other games built around what is believed to be an ancient game played with pebbles and a stone or wooden board with areas carved out to hold the pebbles.
In this particular adaptation of the game the object is to capture as many of the pebbles as possible, while using strategy to prevent the computer opponent from also capturing pebbles.
Each player takes turns moving their pieces in a counter-clockwise motion dropping a single pebble into each slot except for the slot that the group of pebbles originated from. Pebbles may be captured when the slot in which the last pebble is placed contains two or three pebbles.
Play continues with the players alternating turns until all of the pebbles have been captured or one of the players has captured the majority of the pebbles.
