Conclusion
Awele is a well designed game. It isn't a game that comes with a lot of bells and whistles, but it delivers well on what it does have. I would have liked for Awele to include an option for two players to play the game, either via a single Pocket Pc or using multiple Pocket PCs using IR or Bluetooth. A board game such as this would be great for entertaining the kids, and multiple player options would be nice in this regard.
Awele is one of those nice titles that you can pick up and start playing right away, but there is enough of a strategy involved that it could take some time before you totally figure it out. I have played the game several times, and it seems as though the computer - who always goes first - seems to make the same moves at the outset of each game. This may mean that once a successful strategy has been discovered you could be victorious in each match. It would be nice if different difficult settings had been added to the game. I think this would have extended the playability for advanced users.
Although Awele is not the most feature rich game, the game scores big on the most important feature. I found the game to be very entertaining - and that is the reason that we all purchase games. We want to be entertained. Awele is not a game that you're going to be yearning to play at all hours of the night, but it is definitely a great game to have on hand when you've got a few spare moments to kill.
pdaBlast! awards Awele a score of 7 out of 10. It is a well designed game that we recommend trying. More information and a downloadable demo can be found here.
