Overall: As someone who was not heavily addicted to the desktop version of the game prior to playing it one the Pocket PC I can honestly say that I am really beginning to see why the desktop version is so popular. Age of Empires is one of those unique games that you can play for a length of time at one sitting, and still come back to play it time and time again. I usually fire up my Pocket PC to play a few games right before I go to sleep (I don't really read too much so playing a quick game on my Pocket PC is my equivalent of reading to fall asleep) and I must admit that I have found myself staying awake so that I could keep playing this game. Add to that the fact that I still play this game every night even though I know that it will keep me up, and you definitely have a winner on your hands.
ZioSoft has brought a real desktop-like gaming experience to the Pocket PCs with the release of Age of Empires for the Pocket PC. The Pocket PC version can really be an extension of the desktop game as ZioSoft has allowed for campaigns created on the desktop to be played on the Pocket PC.
pdaBlast! awards Age of Empires a score of 5 out of 5 for their excellent work in bringing the game to the Pocket PC. Age of Empires is definitely one of the best jobs of porting a desktop game to the Pocket PC that I have seen. Click here for more information.
