Casio has released the E-3000 Pocket PC in Japan. The device is currently available in retail stores.
The E-3000 uses a new PXA255 400 MHz XScale processor. It comes with 64 MB of RAM and 32 MB of ROM.
It uses a standard 16-bit color, TFT screen at 240 by 320 pixels. It has a D-pad on the front and Up/Down buttons on the left side. It also includes both a CompactFlash Type II slot and an SD/MMC.
The E-3000 comes with a 1500 mAh removable battery that is supposed to power it for 18 hours (with the backlight turned off).
There is no definite word on if or when the E-3000 might be available in the US. Most times these announcements follow in a couple months. We'll see if the new E-3000 makes it to US Shores.
