HP Issues Customer Advisory

HP has issued a customer advisory. Some Pocket PC customers are experiencing lockups to the point of getting this error message. HP says the fix is to shut down some programs running in memory. I remember having these problems with Windows too. Hmm..

Here's the advisory:

Occasionally, the system performance on the iPAQ Pocket PC may decrease (up to the point of lock-up) if you run several programs simultaneously. This is due to the limited amount of vitural program memory available with the Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 operating system. Certain applications created for this operating system require a large amount of available virtual memory to operate.

When this occurs, you may receive an error message or notice the system will not respond to any commands. A commonly displayed error message is:

Depending on the applications running on the iPAQ Pocket PC, you may receive an error message different from the one displayed above. Some applications may fail to load and may/may not provide an error message.
