Toshiba Announces Two New Pocket PCs

Toshiba has announced two new Pocket PCs including one that includes a VGA screen. Both of the new devices are available at Toshiba's web site.

Toshiba e805
The Toshiba e805 runs Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Premium Edition. It uses on a 400 MHz Intel Xscale PXA263 processor, and offers 128 MB of RAM, 32 MB of ROM, and 32 MB of NAND Flash ROM for extra storage.

This model breaks new ground in the area of display as it has a 4-inch VGA screen. It also supports 240 by 320 pixel resolution which enables it to provide backwards compatibility with applications that don't support the higher resolution.

The e805 has integrated Wi-Fi wireless networking and dual slots for CompactFlash Type II and SD/MMC. It comes with a swappable 1320 mAh battery which makes it convenient when you're on the road. Swapping batteries is a must if you're using your device for lots of MP3 listening for example. This e805 measures 5.3 x 3.0 x 0.6 inches and weighs 6.8 ounces.

The e805 lists for $599.




Toshiba e405
The Toshiba e405 runs Windows Mobile 2003 Professional Edition on a 300 MHz Intel XScale PXA261 processor. It has 64 MB of RAM and 32 MB of NAND Flash ROM. The e405 includes a standard Pocket PC 240 by 320 pixels, 3.5" screen. It has a single SD/MMC slot which supports SDIO, and includes a built-in 980mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

The e405 measures 4.9 x 3.0 x 0.4 inches and weighs 4.6 ounces.

The e405 lists for $299. Both models are available at Toshiba's web site (link below).
