Toshiba Announces e330 Pocket PC

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - September 30, 2002

Joining the number of Pocket PC manufacturers readying or releasing devices with an XScale processor Toshiba has announced the e330 Pocket PC.

The e330 will retain the form factor and display of the e310 device. The only changes are a new 300 MHz XScale processor, and 64 MB of RAM.

No details are available about the release date or expected pricing for the e330.

Editor's Take
Although details are sparse right now I expect the e330 to be a moderatley priced device. The 300 MHz Xscale processor is going to be a nice touch, but you don't see any mention of Bluetooth, biometrics, or any of the other frills that have been announced for many of the higher priced XScale Pocket PCs.

By keeping their device simple and affordable for the average consumer I think that Toshiba may be able to secure a nice niche in the market.
