Dell: Handhelds Going to Be Small Part of Business

In a recent article on CNet Dell confirms that they are looking at expanding into new markets including printers and PDAs. Rumors have been circulating for some time about a Dell Pocket PC being ready for shipment by the holiday buying season, but a Dell spokesperson declined to give any specific target date for their PDA launch.

Dell COO, Kevin Rollins, inidcated that the Dell PDA will only be a small part of their business. Rollins indicated that a PDA launch was being considered for several quarters from now, but a Dell spokesperson later said that Rollins, who was interviewed in Brazil, was speaking about a Brazillian launch. The North American launch would come before the Brazillian one.
