The Mark: A Perfect Hit

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - December 05, 2002

Flux Game's arcade style sniper shooting game, The Mark, is an exciting game in which you are a sniper perched on the top of a building. You progress through various missions in a variety of different add-on settings to protect your own life, and that of your team member. Does The Mark hit the target, or is it just shooting blanks? Read the review to find out.

Game Modes
The Mark has two distinct game modes. The first mode is training and the second is the scenery mode. The training mode is what the name implies. It is a great way to start playing the game. You'll learn how the game plays, and you'll get experience that will help you achieve success once you take on assignments.

The second game mode is the scenery mode. In the scenery mode you select from one of the available sceneries - currently there are three different sceneries to choose from - and you progress through the different missions in that particular scenery by successfully completing the objective.

The currently available sceneries are: New York, Amsterdam, and Clay Shooting. The Amsterdam and New York Sceneries offer 5 different missions, and the Clay Shooting scenery offers three different missions. The Clay Shooting scenery is fairly self explanatory. You must achieve a specified number of hits in order to unlock the next range. In the other two sceneries the objectives vary from protecting a witness on his way to the courthouse to saving the city from terrorist plots.

Game Play
Game play within The Mark is fairly simple. Once you have selected which scenery and mission to play you will be given a Mission Briefing. The briefing will give you the objective for the particular mission. Once you have read this information you can begin the mission. The scenery will load, and you will be given final instructions from the commander.
